SUMMARY:Upcoming ARCS Pittsburgh Events
DESCRIPTION:We have an array of events each year that enable o
 ur members (and their guests) to feel connected to
  the innovations occurring in our region in areas 
 of science\, medical research\, engineering and te
 chnology. \n \n \n \n \n 	We have four or more edu
 cational/behind the scenes programs each year for 
 members and guests including tours with receptions
 . For example\, past event programming included to
 urs at Magee Women’s Research Institute\, the McGo
 wan Institute for Regenerative Medicine\, the rece
 ntly opened Vision Institute\, Google\, PPG’s Glob
 al Research Center\, and many others.  These event
 s may also be gatherings where one of our many glo
 bally known researchers at the University of Pitts
 burgh\, Carnegie Mellon University or in local ind
 ustries update us on the cutting-edge discoveries 
 that are happening in fields as diverse as vision 
 restoration\, cures for Type 1 diabetes\, or Artif
 icial Intelligence. \n 	Monthly\, our National Fou
 ndation hosts one hour Zoom meetings\, ARCS Forwar
 d\, featuring scholars across the United States wh
 o are working in various fields such as T-Cell res
 earch\, Artificial Intelligence\, and prenatal car
 e of at-risk mothers. \n 	Yearly\, In the fall\, w
 e have a Donor Appreciation Event where all those 
 present can meet the new scholars and reacquaint t
 hemselves with our returning scholars from both in
 stitutions.  In the spring\, we have a Scholar Sho
 wcase event where we learn yet more about their re
 search areas and are inspired by the multi-talents
  of all our 3rd year scholars.  The University of 
 Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University rotate h
 osting duties between these two events.\n 	Finally
 \, our members host casual social events in their 
 homes at various times during the year as opportun
 ities for prospective members to get to know our o
 rganization and meet several scholars who describe
  their area of research. \n
