WHY:  Meet our Second Year Scholars as they embark in their programs in nursing, chemistry, medicine, nanotechnology and engineering. Learn even more about them and how they are managing amidst the COVID pandemic when we break out to the networking chat rooms.

From Carnegie Mellon University

Ayesha Abdulla (The Susan and Roy Dorrance Award) works in Materials Science in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department.

Ryan Bowman (The Catharine M. and John T. Ryan, III ARCS Pittsburgh Endowed Scholar Award), is in Biological Sciences within the Mellon College of Science.

Serena Chen (The Jeanne B. and Richard F. Berdik ARCS Pittsburgh Endowed Scholar Award) works in software research and engineering in the School of Computer Science.

Erica Cruz (The Pittsburgh Chapter Award) is working in the School of Computer Science on computer-mediated games designed to empower underserved individuals.

Madeline Hagen (The Gookin Family Foundation ARCS Pittsburgh Endowed Scholar Award) is in the Physics Department, within the Mellon College of Science.

Peter Manohar (The Susan and Roy Dorrance Scholar Award) is in Computer and Information Science within the School of Computer Science.

Srinivas Pranav (The Professor Virgil D. Gilgor and Alicia M. Avery ARCS Pittsburgh Endowed Scholar Award) is in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering.

Felix Weilacher (The Susan and Roy Dorrance Scholar Award) is in the Mathematical Sciences Department of the Mellon College of Science.

Jessica Davis (The Fromm-Payne-Pittsburgh Chapter Award) is at the School of Nursing, investigating the effect of a human milk diet on infant congenital heart disease.

Giancarlo Gonzalez-Areizaga (The Leonard B. and Helen P. McCully Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation Award) is in the School of Medicine.

Lisa Hong (The Beukema-Wainwright-Wood Award) is in the School of Medicine.
