Why become a member?

Our members tell us that they reap many rewards from being part of ARCS Foundation Pittsburgh. In addition to the satisfaction of knowing they are contributing to our mission of advancing science in America, they find that the opportunity to interact with experts and scholars in the sciences is a source of intellectual and personal gratification.

Our programs are designed to connect members to the world of science. Small groups experience behind-the-scene tours at science-related facilities and hear speakers on the hottest science topics of the day.

Many events include the scholars, and therefore members have the pleasure of hearing from our nation’s best and brightest. Whether they are talking about tissue regeneration or information security, their passion and commitment inspires us all.

Who can join?

While we encourage members to get the most out of their membership by attending events or serving the organization, the only true obligation is to believe in the mission of advancing science in America and to support the Chapter financially with at least the required minimum annual contribution.

Who are we?

Members of ARCS Foundation Pittsburgh are women philanthropists committed to advancing science in America. Women who join our chapter do so to contribute to the support of outstanding students in universities and colleges in western Pennsylvania.  ARCS Foundation Pittsburgh is one of 15 ARCS Foundation chapters nationwide. The Pittsburgh Chapter currently has 109 members dedicated to making a difference in students’ lives and in the future of America.  During the 2020-2021 academic year, we are supporting 34 scholars at Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh.
